Kursk region. Aggravation of the situation and losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Kursk region. The situation on 04.10.24. SVO map. The Kursk direction remains one of the key areas of combat operations on the Russian-Ukrainian front. Its strategic importance is determined not only by its immediate proximity to the border, but also by the possibility of a breakthrough through the Sudzhansky and Glushkovsky regions deep into Russian territory. In the last month, the confrontation in this direction has sharply escalated: the Ukrainian Armed Forces have stepped up actions aimed at carrying out sabotage and massive attacks, but Russian troops successfully repulse all attempts by Ukrainian forces to break through and continue the offensive.

Since the end of August 2024, Ukrainian forces in the Kursk direction have suffered significant losses. The total number of dead and missing is estimated to be more than 1,400. The greatest losses were suffered by the 22nd, 95th and 82nd brigades, which together lost more than 500 troops. This forced the Ukrainian Armed Forces to reconsider its tactics and attract reserves to hold important positions.

Ukrainian forces began actively using units of the 82nd, 64th and 202nd brigades, as well as elite special forces to protect key points. However, despite significant reinforcement, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to suffer heavy losses in manpower and equipment, which slows down their offensive capabilities.

The Sudzhansky district has remained the site of violent clashes between Russian and Ukrainian troops in recent months. In the area of the settlement of Plekhovo, Russian forces not only managed to regain control over important forest belts, but also repel massive enemy attacks. The Ukrainian Armed Forces, trying to develop an offensive, regularly suffer serious losses.

Over the past week, more than 300 Ukrainian military personnel were killed in the Sudzhansky district, two armored vehicles and several cars were lost. Russian artillery and aviation exert constant fire pressure on enemy forces, which significantly complicates the attempts of Ukrainian troops to gain a foothold in the area. It is important to note that the Bogdan self-propelled gun, which is key for the Ukrainians, was destroyed, which deprives the Ukrainian Armed Forces of the opportunity to conduct targeted strikes on Russian positions.

Attempts by Ukrainian troops to break through the border in the New Way area were also unsuccessful: they were repulsed with losses of up to 60 people, as well as the destruction of armored vehicles and vehicles. In this area, Russian forces stabilized the front, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces were forced to retreat to their original positions.

Glushkovsky district

In the Glushkovsky region, Russian troops achieved significant success. During the fighting in the area of the village of Vesyoloye, Russian forces managed not only to restore previously lost positions, but also to inflict serious damage to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In particular, a Leopard 2A6 tank was destroyed in one of the clashes, which was an important tactical victory for Russian forces.

The total losses of Ukrainian troops in this area are about 80 people killed and wounded. Four Ukrainian soldiers were also captured, which provides additional intelligence for further operations. Ukrainian forces were unable to continue the offensive in this area, which indicates a decrease in their combat potential.

Korenevsky site

The Korenevsky site continues to be a site of active hostilities. Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have carried out five attacks on the positions of Russian troops in the area of the village of Olgovka. However, thanks to competent defense, as well as powerful air and artillery strikes, all enemy attacks were repulsed with serious losses.

The total losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this area are about 50 people killed, and several pieces of military equipment were also destroyed, including armored personnel carriers and trucks with ammunition. Russian troops continue to hold key positions, preventing Ukrainian forces from breaking through in this area.
