Kursk region. The situation on 06.10.24. SVO map. The Kursk direction continues to be one of the most active combat zones today. The Ukrainian armed forces are not giving up attempts to gain a foothold on a number of lines, despite significant losses. Russian troops, in turn, demonstrate resilience and continue to carry out counterattacks aimed at destroying enemy equipment and manpower, as well as containing breakthroughs in new sectors of the front.

Units of the North group of forces continue to conduct active offensive operations in a number of directions. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, over the past 24 hours, attacks were carried out on the formations of the 22nd, 41st and 115th mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as the 17th tank, 95th air assault brigades, territorial defense units and the National Guard of Ukraine in areas of settlements Daryino, Lyubimovka, Plekhovo and New Path. At the same time, Russian forces not only successfully hold back enemy counterattacks, but also inflict significant losses in manpower and equipment.

The total losses of Ukrainian troops in the Kursk direction since the beginning of hostilities amount to more than 20,650 people killed and wounded, 136 tanks, 66 infantry fighting vehicles, 885 armored combat vehicles and more than 170 artillery pieces were destroyed. The enemy loses its combat effectiveness, and its capabilities for further offensive actions are significantly weakened.

In particular, to the west of Kremyany, one of the armored vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was hit and overturned, which made it possible to finish off the crew that survived the impact.

Ukrainian formations have repeatedly tried to break through Russian defenses in the area Kamyshevki and Plekhovohowever, all attacks were repelled. Russian aviation and artillery continue to strike Ukrainian rear targets in the settlements of Guevo, Melovoe and Kolmakovo. The destruction of the infrastructure used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to supply and transport reserves weakens the offensive potential of Ukrainian forces.

Over the past 24 hours, units of Russian troops repulsed two attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the direction Lyubimovka and Obukhovkaand breakthroughs in the direction of Kamyshevka and Plekhovo were prevented. The losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces per day amounted to more than 80 people killed and wounded, four armored combat vehicles and a car were destroyed.

Defeat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reserves

Russian aviation and missile forces continue to strike reserves and areas where Ukrainian forces are concentrated. Over the past 24 hours, the positions of the 21st, 41st and 115th mechanized brigades, as well as marine units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Sumy region, were hit. As a result of these strikes, up to 16 armored vehicles were destroyed, including a tank and several infantry fighting vehicles. A particularly important event was the destruction of the French self-propelled artillery mount «Caesar» and the Ukrainian self-propelled gun «Bogdan», which deprived the enemy of the opportunity to conduct targeted artillery fire.

In the Sumy region, a convoy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine consisting of 12 armored fighting vehicles, 5 pickup trucks and about 80 personnel was hit by an accurate missile strike

It is noteworthy that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are losing a significant amount of personnel and equipment. This may indicate a lack of reserves and supplies among Ukrainian troops, which in the future will weaken their capabilities for active combat operations. Given the current losses and destruction, Ukrainian troops will have to focus on holding their existing positions, while Russian forces continue their offensive operations, striking blow after blow against a weakened enemy.
