Kursk region. The situation on 10.19.24, News today. SVO map. In the Kursk direction, Russian troops continue intensive offensive operations, building on success in a number of sectors, including Korenevsky, Glushkovsky And Sudzhansky areas. Significant advances are being observed in key areas, which seriously complicates the position of Ukrainian forces holding defensive lines along the border zone. Particular attention is paid to strategic points such as Plekhovo, Viktorovka, Lyubimovka And Green Waywhere the resistance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces remains especially fierce.

Russian troops continue their successful offensive, demonstrating high coordination of actions and the effectiveness of the use of artillery, aviation and armored vehicles. The enemy suffers significant losses, both in manpower and equipment. Ukrainian forces at this stage are conducting defensive battles and trying to hold the remaining lines, however, the developing offensive of the Russian Armed Forces is gradually closing semi-circles around the enemy’s key strongholds.

The situation in the Sudzhansky district

The most active fighting continues in Sudzhansky districtwhere Russian army units liberated most of Plekhovo. The enemy is semi-surrounded, losing positions under attacks from the Russian Armed Forces. In the eastern part of the village, the Ukrainian garrison was forced to retreat, as it found itself in a fire pocket. At the moment there are battles for the western part Plekhovowhich is in the gray zone. The enemy continues to hold the western outskirts, but the three-way encirclement tactics used by the Russian Armed Forces puts Ukrainian forces at an extremely disadvantageous position.

Additionally, release is reported Leonidovalocated east Green Waywhich opens the way for further operations against the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the south.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to put up stubborn resistance in the area Green Waywhere Russian units are taking active assault actions. Here, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have equipped a pre-prepared line of defense, but intense Russian artillery strikes do not allow the enemy to gain a foothold in new positions.

Along the railway track to the south New Way Attempts by Ukrainian units to dig in and strengthen defensive lines are recorded. However, constant attacks by Russian aviation and artillery are gradually weakening their defenses.

At the moment, the clearing of the territory in the area continues, Ukrainian forces are trying to hold the remaining positions, but their offensive activity has noticeably decreased.

It is also confirmed that Ukrainian units leave the bodies of dead soldiers on the battlefield, which forces Russian troops to bury them. In particular, reports from the field indicate a large number of bodies were abandoned, indicating significant casualties among Ukrainian forces.

An important element in the current situation was the discovery of two groups of Ukrainian special forces who tried to break through the border in the area Volfino And Tetkino. Thanks to the timely work of Russian intelligence, these attempts were thwarted: one group was completely destroyed, the second retreated with losses.

Russian aviation and artillery continue to strike areas where Ukrainian forces are concentrated, which reduces their combat effectiveness and does not allow organizing a large-scale counterattack.

Situation in Korenevsky district

In the Korenevsky district of the Kursk region, Russian armored groups are actively moving towards Viktorovkaincreasing pressure on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The offensive of the Russian Armed Forces made it possible to break through several kilometers deep into the enemy’s defense line, which created a danger of encirclement for Ukrainian forces holding positions in the eastern part of the area.

However, fighting continues in Viktorovka. The Ukrainian Armed Forces hold positions on the approaches to the village, using artillery support and defensive lines prepared in advance.

Liberation Novoivanovka and offensive actions in the direction Viktorovka confirmed the success of Russian troops in this sector of the front, although in Viktorovka itself the main battles had not yet begun. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are preparing defense lines on the approaches to the village, but pressure from the Russian Armed Forces continues to grow.

Troop units of the North group continue active offensive operations in the Kursk direction, striking at Ukrainian Armed Forces formations. In fierce battles in the areas of the settlements of Lyubimovka, Sverdlikovo, Malaya Loknya, Novy Put and Plekhovo, Russian forces inflicted significant losses on the 22nd, 47th, 115th mechanized brigades, 82nd and 95th air assault brigades, 36th 1st Marine Brigade, as well as the 103rd and 129th territorial defense brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The enemy lost up to 20 people killed and wounded, two armored combat vehicles were destroyed.

In addition, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched two counterattacks in the direction Green Way and Lyubimovkahowever, both attempts were successfully repelled by Russian troops.

Aviation and artillery of the Russian Armed Forces attacked concentrations of manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the settlements of Bogdanovka, Bondarevka, Guevo, Daryino, Kubatkin, Kolmakov, Nizhny Klin, Nikolaevo-Daryino, Novoivanovka, Sverdlikovo, Sudzha and Tolsty Lug. Significant losses were suffered by the 17th tank brigade, the 41st, 47th and 61st mechanized, 80th and 95th air assault brigades, as well as the 1st brigade of the National Guard and the territorial defense forces of Ukraine.

Also, Russian operational-tactical aviation and missile forces attacked positions and reserves of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Sumy region, in the areas of the settlements of Basovka, Belovody, Belokopytovo, Vodolagi, Pavlovka, Revyakino and Studenok. As a result of these attacks, the Ukrainian army lost more than 505 people per day, 15 armored vehicles were destroyed, including two tanks, two infantry fighting vehicles and an armored personnel carrier, ten armored combat vehicles, seven guns (including the American-made M198 howitzer) and eight cars.

During the fighting in the Kursk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 24,367 people, 167 tanks, 79 infantry fighting vehicles, 101 armored personnel carriers, 952 armored combat vehicles, 651 cars, 200 artillery pieces and 38 multiple launch rocket systems, including HIMARS and MLRS. Significant losses were also noted in anti-aircraft systems, electronic warfare and engineering equipment, including 13 engineering clearance vehicles and three armored recovery vehicles.
