CrimeaPRESS reports:

Kursk region. Situation on 09.11.24, News today. SVO map. The Kursk direction continues to remain one of the key areas of active combat operations on the front line. On November 8, Russian troops are developing offensive operations in a number of areas of the Kursk region, including Korenevsky, Glushkovsky And Sudzhansky districts. The enemy is trying to contain the onslaught with tanks, armored vehicles and reserves, while Russian units effectively use artillery, aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles to support the offensive. The Russian group “North” is putting strong pressure on the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, fighting in strategically important areas, such as Novoivanovka, Daryino And Malaya Loknya. The operational situation today shows the development of a maneuver to encircle Ukrainian forces located north of highway Green Way — Malaya Loknyawhich may affect the further configuration of the front.

IN Sudzhansky district There is also an increase in activity on the Russian side, where battles are recorded at the border Orlovka — Novaya Sorochina — Staraya Sorochina. Despite reports in Ukrainian sources about heavy fighting, there is no documented evidence of the start of a full-scale offensive in the area. However, if information about the attacks is confirmed, this may indicate an attempt to create a “cauldron” around Ukrainian units that have taken positions in the area Round.

There are also reports of local clashes near Martynovki. In this area, Russian operational-tactical aviation bombed positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In the area Malaya Lokni The Lancet UAV strike destroyed the Ukrainian self-propelled gun 2S22 Bogdan, which indicates a weakening of the enemy’s artillery capabilities.

On the site Cellars Russian forces conducted reconnaissance in force and soon, with virtually no resistance, advanced through the populated area. A column of armored vehicles passed through Old Sorochina and continues to move south, bypassing Malaya Loknya from the west side. This maneuver indicates a possible attempt to encircle Ukrainian forces holding positions north of the highway. Green Way — Malaya Loknya.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are unlikely to be able to quickly transfer reinforcements, since the only road to Sudzha is under the control of the Russian army, including fire and unmanned cover. The maneuver could make future battles easier for Malaya Loknya.

Glushkovsky district:

Units of the Russian Armed Forces are strengthening their positions in the occupied territory, conducting reconnaissance in force and massively using artillery to suppress enemy firing points.

In recent days, Ukrainian forces have been massing armored vehicles and personnel on prepared defensive lines, and are also trying to respond with counterattacks. On their part, active use of tanks and infantry is recorded to hold positions. In a number of cases, the Ukrainian side uses reserves to try to push Russian units back to their original positions.

At night, the Russian Armed Forces carried out ballistic strikes on infrastructure facilities in Sumy region. One of the targets was reportedly Sumskaya CHPPwhich led to power outages in the city. These attacks could be aimed at destroying rear communications and undermining the logistics capabilities of Ukrainian troops in the region.

Russian artillery is actively working against identified enemy concentrations, and aviation is striking at the rear positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In particular, Russian pilots are conducting attacks on supply hubs, which limits the ability of Ukrainian troops to deliver reinforcements in a timely manner. Saturating the front line with Russian UAVs makes it possible to record enemy movements, as well as quickly adjust artillery fire, which increases the accuracy of strikes.

Korenevsky district:

Kursk region. Korenevsky district. 09.11.24

IN Korenevsky district Russian troops are conducting local battles south of Green Way And Novoivanovka. The last settlement is important because it is a transport hub, controlling the roads that allow Russian forces to develop an offensive towards Malaya Lokni and provide support on the northern borders.

Ukrainian forces increase the intensity of their fire, using tanks to counterattack Russian positions. Videos posted online show moments of such tank attacks, which confirms the growing pressure from the Ukrainian Armed Forces on parts of Russian units. In response, the Russian army is actively using UAVs and artillery crews, effectively hitting concentrations of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and equipment. In addition, front-line aviation continues to strike Ukrainian units: today alone, air strikes were recorded on positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in populated areas Round And Leonidovkawhere the enemy is concentrating forces for potential counterattacks.

In the northeast of the front line there is a significant intensification of hostilities. Russian troops are conducting attacks in a number of directions, in particular in the area Sverdlikovo And Olginsky forestwhere Ukrainian units had previously been seen fortifying themselves with armored vehicles and ammunition. The Ukrainian side, despite attempts at counterattacks, is faced with powerful attacks from the Russian army, especially in the direction Daryino And Novoivanovkawhere intense military clashes are taking place using a large amount of equipment.

Support for Russian aviation and artillery

Russian aviation continues massive strikes on enemy positions, which has reduced the enemy’s armored forces, which, according to Ukrainian data, has lost about 4 tanks and more than 70 infantry fighting vehicles over the past two days. Manpower losses on the Ukrainian side are estimated at approximately two companies.

In the evening, Russian forces continue to strengthen positions in the occupied areas, leaving small groups for all-round defense. Support by artillery and heavy flamethrower systems helps maintain pressure on the enemy, although final control over a number of areas remains in question.

In recent days, there has been an active use of UAVs to supply surrounded or semi-encircled units. Ukrainian forces use heavy drones capable of delivering personnel, limited ammunition and other resources. Similar tactics, according to data from the field, are used by Russian units. These measures allow both sides to maintain small groups when surrounded, which is especially important for battles in Big Olgovsky forest.

Russian marines from the North group of forces are successfully advancing in the border region of the Kursk region, conducting active combat operations against units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The recent clashes have demonstrated the high level of preparation and determination of Russian forces. The Marines set up an ambush, destroying Ukrainian positions and military equipment produced by NATO countries. The Ukrainian Armed Forces militants, not expecting such a decisive rebuff, were forced to retreat, leaving military equipment, weapons and personal belongings in their positions. In addition, while retreating, the enemy mined certain areas of the territory, trying to complicate the further advance of Russian units.

After establishing control over these positions, Russian troops cleared the area, destroying the mines left behind, ensuring the safety of the advance.

According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation — Kursk region

The Russian Armed Forces continue a successful offensive in the Kursk direction, countering the attempts of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to maintain positions in a number of border settlements. Units of the Russian group “North” attacked key enemy formations, including mechanized and air assault brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, destroying equipment and significantly reducing their combat effectiveness.

During these actions, 11 counterattacks of Ukrainian forces were repelled in the areas Daryino, Green Way, Malaya LoknyaAnd Nikolaevo-Daryino. An attempt to break through the state border near New Way. Enemy losses in this area amounted to up to 80 people killed and wounded, as well as the loss of tanks and armored vehicles. Two Ukrainian servicemen surrendered.

Russian aviation and artillery continue to strike large concentrations of personnel and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, operating in directions Alexandria, Daryino, Round, Martynovka, Novoivanovka and others. Additional strikes by operational-tactical aviation and missile forces were carried out on Ukrainian Armed Forces facilities in the Sumy region, causing significant damage to their reserves and logistics.

Over the past 24 hours, the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces exceeded 300 military personnel. Several tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, armored vehicles, mortars and cars were destroyed. Thus, the enemy’s losses in this direction since the beginning of hostilities have already amounted to more than 30,500 people and hundreds of pieces of military equipment, including tanks, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems and other important military assets, which has significantly weakened its ability to hold the defense line.

Offensive actions continue in strategically important directions, providing Russian forces with control over key lines and opportunities for further advances deeper into the border areas.
