Kursk region. The situation on 09.10.24. Today. SVO map.Combat operations in the Kursk direction continue with high intensity, and Russian troops continue to develop offensive operations, squeezing the enemy from occupied lines. The main efforts of the Russian Armed Forces are focused on the assault on Lyubimovka, a key settlement in the north of the Korenevsky district. Here the battles are being fought with great intensity, and the 106th Russian Airborne Division has already gained a foothold in more than half of the village. The Ukrainian Armed Forces stubbornly resist, but Russian troops continue to advance, consolidating their positions and destroying enemy military equipment.

Counterattacks by Ukrainian troops in the area were repulsed, allowing Russian troops to strengthen their positions and destroy several enemy armored vehicles. However, the weather made its own adjustments, mud and rain began, and it became difficult to conduct reconnaissance from the air.

In the Lyubimovka area Russian troops continue successful offensive operations. Over the past 24 hours, units of the 106th Airborne Division occupied more than 50% of the territory of this settlement. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are actively resisting, but are forced to retreat under attacks from Russian troops and aviation. During the fighting, enemy equipment was destroyed, including the Roshel Senator armored car. The losses of Ukrainian forces amounted to about 200 people, including foreign mercenaries. The counterattacks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were completely repulsed, and Russian units continue their systematic advance.

In Glushkovsky district Fierce artillery duels continue. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are attempting to attack Russian positions in the border forest area. Combat operations are especially active on the approaches to Vesyoly. Ukrainian troops are trying to cut the strategic route 38N-052, but their efforts are being suppressed by Russian artillery. During the day, several enemy mortar and artillery crews were destroyed, which significantly weakened their firing capabilities.

In the Plekhovo area Russian troops are gradually moving forward, capturing key positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Fighting is taking place in forest belts and on the outskirts of populated areas. The enemy is resisting, but as a result of the successful actions of the Russian army, several important objects were taken under control. Ukrainian troops are suffering losses, abandoning equipment and positions. According to preliminary data, up to 15 enemy military personnel and several pieces of equipment were destroyed.

In the Sudzhan direction The Ukrainian Armed Forces are attempting to counterattack Russian positions in the Cherkasy Porechny and Plekhovo areas. All attacks were repelled by Russian units. Air strikes on the rear targets of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were particularly successful, which led to the destruction of an ammunition depot south of Osoyevka. As a result of the detonation, the warehouse was completely destroyed, depriving the enemy of significant reserves of weapons. The losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this direction amounted to 22 people and several armored vehicles.

In Korenevsky district Active offensive operations by the Russian army continue. The enemy attempted an attack on the positions of the Russian Armed Forces using armored vehicles in the Obukhovka area, but Russian troops successfully repelled the attack, destroying one infantry fighting vehicle and up to 10 personnel. During the fighting, the flag of one of the Ukrainian units was captured, which became a symbolic victory for the Russian troops.
