Kursk region. The situation on 02.10.24. SVO map. In the Kursk direction, Russian troops continue to develop their offensive and maintain control in key areas. The main combat operations are concentrated in the Glushkovsky district and on the southern borders of the Sudzhansky district, where the Russian armored group actively attacked the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The enemy is not abandoning attempts to gain a foothold in strategic positions, but still suffers significant losses in armored vehicles and personnel. Sections of the border and forest belts where Ukrainian units had previously established a foothold were under the fire control of Russian troops. Artillery and aviation strikes are being actively used, which leads to a reduction in the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ ability to organize defense.

The main battles take place near Plekhovo, where Russian forces repulsed several enemy attacks, striking their armored vehicles and personnel. In the area between Plekhovo and Borki, the Russian Armed Forces managed to regain control over forest belts and part of the border, moving south from these lines. The enemy, despite significant losses, continues to try to attack in the vicinity of Vesyoly, but he failed to gain a foothold on these lines.

Glushkovsky district

In the direction of Glushkovo, Ukrainian troops are again trying to break through to the positions of the Russian army in the area of ​​the village of Vesyoloye, but Russian units are successfully repelling the attacks. Several enemy armored vehicles were destroyed, including a Leopard 2A6 tank, which confirms the high intensity of fighting in this area. At the same time, attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue in the Medvezhye area, but the enemy cannot gain a foothold in new positions due to constant attacks by Russian artillery and aviation.

Our reconnaissance drones detected the movement of armored vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk border region, moving towards Vesyoly. Fire was opened on the invaders, and as a result of direct hits from various types of weapons, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ combat vehicles and their crews were destroyed. At the same time, one of the infantry fighting vehicles broke through from the west beyond Vesyoloye, where it was burned.

Korenevsky district

In the Kremyanoye area, Ukrainian forces continue to accumulate in forest belts, but their attacks are restrained by attacks from the Russian Aerospace Forces, using FABs with UMPC against identified positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The enemy is trying to gain a foothold in the eastern part of the area, but at the moment the situation remains controlled by Russian units.

Operation at Plekhovo

On the southern borders of the Sudzhansky district, a Russian armored group launched an attack on the positions of Ukrainian forces south of Plekhovo and Borok. Russian troops occupied several key forest belts, and also regained control over part of the border from Kucherov to the Brodin ravine. The enemy in this sector also suffered significant losses, but does not give up attempts to regain lost positions, which requires further active actions of the Russian Armed Forces in this sector.
