Kursk region. The situation on 10/14/24, today. SVO map. In this sector, Russian troops continue to confidently advance, gaining a foothold on key lines. The battles for the settlements of Lyubimovka and Tolstoy Lug ended in favor of the Russian forces, which made it possible to create favorable conditions for a further offensive. Of particular importance is the forest floodplain of the Snagost River, where the enemy found himself in an operational environment. The enemy repeatedly tried to break out of the encirclement through Novoivanovka, but all attempts ended in failure. The tank attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is noteworthy, during which the Ukrainian side lost several armored vehicles. Continuing the offensive south of the Zeleny Shlyakh — Malaya Loknya highway, Russian units made significant progress.

Fighting continues near Plekhovo and in the Sudzhansky district. The losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the last week amounted to more than 400 people, about 30 pieces of equipment, including 6 tanks. The Russian offensive has been somewhat hampered by bad weather conditions, but despite this, progress is obvious. The enemy is forced to retreat and lose key positions along the entire front line.

Clearing the border zone in the south of the Glushkovsky district from APU has been successfully completed. The enemy has been practically pushed back across the state border, which removes the potential threat of a flank and rear attack on our units operating in the Korenovsky region. Ukrainian sources note that the successful breakthrough of our troops in the Vesely area became possible due to the withdrawal of Ukrainian Armed Forces reserves transferred to other areas where our attacks were especially active. Regardless of the reasons, the key result is the elimination of the Ukrainian foothold in this sector.

Lyubimovka and Tolsty Lug

In this area, Russian forces completed clearing the settlements of Tolstoy Lug and Lyubimovka, where previously surrounded units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were located. The enemy repeatedly made attempts to release their units, but due to bad roads and autumn thaw, this turned out to be impossible. Over the past two days, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have launched several unsuccessful counterattacks through Novoivanovka. Enemy losses amounted to more than 300 people, and 10 armored vehicles were destroyed, including two German Leopard tanks. Only eight Ukrainian soldiers surrendered. The cleansing in Tolstoy Lug was completed in the morning, and Lyubimovka was cleared of the enemy by the evening of the previous day.

Olgovka

Russian troops continue to achieve success in this sector. The remaining forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who find themselves in a building on the outskirts, are practically deprived of support and are forced to await their inevitable fate. The enemy is deprived of supplies and communications, which makes their further resistance pointless. Reinforced assault units of the Russian Armed Forces, having a numerical and tactical advantage, will continue clearing the territory.

On October 10, Russian units carried out a successful operation to clear a forest plantation in the area of the Zeleny Shlyakh farmstead. During the raid, the operators of Ukrainian UAVs, who were surrounded by the rapid advance of our troops, were destroyed. This operation has significantly complicated the work of Ukrainian drones in this direction, which reduces their ability to strike Russian units.

Malaya Loknya

The situation in the Malaya Loknya area remains tense. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding their positions, but Russian troops are conducting active offensive operations. Units of the Ukrainian army began to retreat south of the line of the Green Way — Malaya Loknya highway, avoiding encirclement. The key factor here is control over roads, which gives Russian troops an advantage in worsening weather conditions. Fighting continues for control of Mikhailovka and Martynovka, which are of strategic importance for the further advance of Russian forces towards Sudzha. There are reports of the area being cleared, but complete information is not yet available. Information about the capture of Cherkasy Konopelki has not yet been confirmed, but the advance of Russian troops in this area continues.

Kursk region — enemy losses

During the battles in the Kursk direction, Ukrainian forces suffered significant losses, which significantly weakens their combat potential. The gradual elimination of equipment and personnel makes any further enemy resistance unlikely. The Ukrainian side is suffering especially serious losses in armored vehicles, which makes it difficult to carry out counterattacks and maneuvers on the battlefield.

Over the past 24 hours, enemy losses amounted to more than 430 people (of which up to 320 were in the Sumy direction). Also opened and destroyed: the Haymars MLRS, the Vampire MLRS, six tanks, two artillery pieces, an infantry fighting vehicle, an armored personnel carrier, eight armored fighting vehicles, four 120-mm mortars, a UAV launcher, a power supply warehouse, 18 units of automotive equipment.
