Kursk direction. The situation on 01.10.24. SVO map. The Kursk region continues to be the scene of intense hostilities, despite the seeming calm. The enemy is trying to hold out in a number of areas, but Russian troops are effectively neutralizing enemy attack attempts and strengthening their positions. The enemy attempted to attack Vesele villagemoving several armored vehicles from the northern part of the village. The attack was quickly repulsed, vehicles and infantry were destroyed by Russian troops. The enemy was unable to gain a foothold in the area, and his attempts remain fruitless. The Russian defense in this area continues to act coherently and confidently, preventing breakthroughs by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The liberation of Obukhovka was an important victory on this section of the front. The enemy was driven out, which made it possible to expand the zone of control of the Russian army. Enemy forces are taking cover in green areas, trying to avoid a direct collision in order to minimize losses from air strikes and artillery strikes of the Russian Armed Forces.

On the site Plekhovo and Guevo Strikes against identified positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue. Russian artillery and aviation are conducting active combat operations, destroying enemy rotational and evacuation groups. This significantly complicates the situation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which suffer heavy losses and lose the opportunity to effectively strengthen their positions. The village of Plekhovo, located south of Sudzha, continues to remain in the zone of active fighting. Russian troops are conducting successful operations to encircle this settlement with the goal of completely cutting it off from the border and eliminating the forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The enemy recognizes the deterioration of the situation in this direction.

In the area Glushkovo attacks by Russian units are also recorded. The main goal is to push Ukrainian troops beyond the border, depriving them of the opportunity to conduct further military operations in the Kursk region. Ukrainian forces continue to hold some positions, but offensive actions by the Russian army put them in a difficult position.

What the enemy says

According to the Ukrainian military, poor knowledge of the terrain complicates their defense. Enemy sources confirm that the Ukrainian Armed Forces suffered significant losses in the areas near Plekhovo, Borki and Spalny, which further increases the pressure of the Russian army. The effective operation of Russian reconnaissance drones, such as the Supercam and Zala, creates additional difficulties for the enemy.

Ukrainian sources report that the Russian Armed Forces are increasing their forces in the region. According to military experts, there may be up to 40-55 thousand Russian military personnel in the combat zone. It is expected that in October and November the Russian army will continue to strengthen its positions in the Kursk direction, which will likely lead to the displacement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the region.
