Kursk region. The situation on 08.10.24. Today. SVO map. In the Kursk direction, the situation remains tense, with active hostilities in several key areas. Russian troops, the North group, continue to carry out tasks to liberate the border areas of the Kursk region and have recorded significant successes.

In Korenevsky district The Russian Armed Forces advanced in the southern part of the Kultura tract and on the western outskirts of Lyubimovka in an area up to 5.7 kilometers wide. Fighting of varying degrees of intensity continues in the directions of Uspenivka and Kremyanoy. Assault groups of the “northerners” actively interact with crews of unmanned aerial vehicles and artillery, which allows them to successfully advance to the state border and strike enemy positions.

In Glushkovsky district artillery and aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces carried out planned fire strikes against identified targets of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the border zone. During the day, on this section of the front, enemy losses amounted to 14 people, two armored combat vehicles, a mortar and two UAV control posts were destroyed. Also in the Dibrova area, the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed an M777 howitzer that was firing from a forest area. Strikes were also carried out on places where the Ukrainian Armed Forces were concentrated in Volfino, Bondarevshchina and Katerynivka.

In the south of Sudzhansky district Russian troops advanced with heavy fighting in the area of the village of Plekhovo, repelling one counterattack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces of up to half a platoon of infantry, of which six units of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel were destroyed. The total advance of Russian troops in the Kursk region per day was up to 2000 meters, which emphasizes the effectiveness of actions on this section of the front.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defenseover the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ losses amounted to more than 150 military personnel, three armored combat vehicles, two artillery pieces, four mortars and two cars were destroyed. In total, during the fighting in the Kursk direction, the enemy lost more than 21,000 military personnel, 136 tanks, 66 infantry fighting vehicles, 98 armored personnel carriers, 888 armored combat vehicles, 586 cars, 173 artillery pieces, 33 multiple launch rocket system launchers, including eight HIMARS and six MLRS made in the USA, nine launchers of anti-aircraft missile systems, five transport-loading vehicles, 45 electronic warfare stations, nine counter-battery radars, three air defense radars, 22 units of engineering and other equipment, including 13 engineering mine clearing vehicles and one missile clearance installation -77.
