Learning is light, but ignorance… is a criminal matter. In Sevastopol, two students are accused of giving bribes to a teacher

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The Nakhimovsky District Prosecutor’s Office approved criminal indictments against two 26-year-old residents of the Republic of Crimea. They are accused under Part 3 of Art. 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (giving a bribe to an official through an intermediary for committing obviously illegal actions).

According to investigators, the men were students of one of the groups at the Maritime Institute named after. Vice Admiral V.A. Kornilov — branch of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education «SMU named after. adm. F.F. Ushakov» correspondence course. In February 2023, doubting whether they had sufficient knowledge, they gave the teacher, through the group leader, money in the amount of 20 thousand rubles each as bribes for giving a test and a positive mark for the English language exam without actually checking their knowledge. The criminal activities of these persons were suppressed by officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. The investigation was carried out by the Main Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol,” noted the press service of the Sevastopol prosecutor’s office.

The district prosecutor’s office sent criminal cases with approved indictments to the Nakhimovsky District Court of Sevastopol for consideration on the merits.

The criminal investigation into the receipt of bribes continues.
