According to information from the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea, in Simferopol, in the building of the cinema named after. Shevchenko underwent fire-tactical exercises of the 3rd rank of complexity.
According to the tactical plan, the fire occurred as a result of an electrical short circuit in the cinema hall on the 3rd floor. Conditions were created for the fire to spread throughout the entire area of the room and beyond. The fire was accompanied by intense heat flows and heavy smoke— said the emergency department.
Cinema employees worked out an algorithm of actions in the event of a fire: they organized the evacuation of visitors, called firefighters and extinguished the fire using primary means.
The combat crews of the Simferpol garrison of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived at the appointed time, carried out a combat deployment, organized a fire extinguishing headquarters and formed GDZS units. During the reconnaissance, one victim was found; he was unable to leave the building on his own, so he was evacuated by firefighters with the help of a self-rescuer.
Main hose lines were deployed to extinguish the fire and protect adjacent buildings until the fire was contained and finally extinguished. In total, 19 pieces of equipment and 72 personnel took part in the exercises.
