Let's go and eat: what dishes are most often ordered on the way to the sea

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The most popular dish among travelers traveling to the sea by train is Russian borscht. This is evidenced by a study of the food delivery service for trains and planes “EduEm”. The company analyzed all orders that were made by travelers on sea routes at the beginning of the hot season (from June 1 to June 14).

It turned out that Russian borscht is included in 18% of all orders. The average cost of a dish was 350 rubles. The second most popular place with 17% of orders was chicken noodles (200 ₽), the third with 12% of all orders was mashed potatoes with steak (350 ₽),” noted the service’s press service.

The top 10 popular dishes also included:

  • pepperoni pizza (890 ₽, 10% of orders),
  • classic shawarma with chicken (300 ₽, 9% of orders),
  • California rolls, Philadelphia (350 ₽, 9% of orders),
  • udon with seafood (480 ₽, 8% of orders),
  • Caesar salad with chicken (400 ₽, 7% of orders),
  • dumplings (350 ₽, 6% of orders),
  • khinkali (340 ₽, 4% of orders).

Russian borscht has been the undisputed leader of preferences among Russian travelers for a long time. This trend is typical not only for trips to the sea, but also for many other routes. In general, despite the huge variety of dishes in orders, it is worth noting that travelers most often give preference to Russian cuisine when traveling by train,” explains PR director of “EduEm” Timur Yusupov.

The average bill for one order for 2-3 people when traveling to the sea was 1,650 rubles. This is 9% less than the average bill on all routes (RUB 1,817)
