Let's go green: a new stage in the history of forest plantations in Crimea has started in Sudak

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The third historical round of greening the peninsula began near Sudak. On October 28, the Green Festival “Tavrida.ART” is taking place in Kapsel Bay near Cape Meganom. He has already gathered around him thousands of Crimeans and guests of the peninsula who came from different cities to contribute to the greening of the deserted bay.

Thanks to the joint efforts, more than 1,300 evergreen trees and perennial shrubs will decorate Kapsel Bay, a coastal zone and the territory of the Tavrida art cluster. Landscaping events, open to everyone, are a new historical stage in the history of reforestation in Crimea. Himalayan cedars, Sudak pines, cypresses, almonds, junipers and many other plants will be planted near Sudak.

This event brought together residents not only of Sudak, but also of other cities of Crimea: Simferopol, Sevastopol, Feodosia, Kerch, Yalta, Alushta, Yevpatoria, Belogorsk, Bakhchisarai, as well as guests from the cities of Lugansk and Donetsk people’s republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Among them are schoolchildren, students, families with children, employees of local companies, media representatives, bloggers, artists, and officials.

We came with the whole family from Feodosia — we could not miss an event of such a scale, especially such an important one for all of us, Crimeans. We love the pike-perch pine very much, and we managed to plant it on the embankment of Kapsel Bay! Now we will come here more often and watch how our tree grows. Thanks to Sudak, thanks to the Tavrida art cluster for this initiative! Let our beloved Crimea become even greener, and let this campaign spread to other citiessays Crimean Maria Nikolaeva.

For the first time in the history of the art cluster, the ambassadors of the event were residents of Crimea. These are people from different cities, completely different professions and interests. A powerlifting coach, director of the Sudak Fortress museum-reserve, kindergarten teacher, librarian, educational psychologist, manicurist — they not only told their colleagues and fellow countrymen about the Festival, but also came with their families to take part in the planting.

Trees in Kapsel Bay were also planted by the Head of the Sudak City Administration Konstantin Podsevalov, the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Crimea Irina Kiviko, the Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of Crimea Dmitry Sheryako, the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea Vadim Volchenko, the head of the department for analyzing the organization of tourism in protected areas of the Roszapovedtsentr of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation Rinara Mutygulina and a lot others.

Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Crimea Olga Slavgorodskaya, who also took part in the tree planting, emphasized that the ecological state of the environment is everyone’s responsibility. She noted that it is important to involve young people in various events and actions aimed at protecting nature and replenishing the forests of Crimea.

Honorary guests from Moscow also took part in the Festival as part of the social project “Team Starship Troopers”, in which successful athletes, popular artists, famous TV presenters, and public figures advocate for a healthy and strong Russia. Among them are two-time Olympic champion Svetlana Masterkova, singer Irina Ortman, chairman of the Volunteers of the Forest Olga Stepchenko, TV presenter Irina Pudova and others.

Popular performers, the pop rock band The Hatters and the singer HABIB, now have their own trees in Crimea. They planted personalized trees on the territory of the Meganom Academy of Creative Industries.

The Hatters group said that its members have experience in planting trees and, although they do not consider themselves “green,” they still try to protect nature and at least not pollute it.

Well done for organizing such an event. Thank you for trusting us to plant a tree for you! I would like to hope that our personalized trees will take root.,” commented the group’s lead singer Yuri Muzychenko.
