Let there be light: illumination turned on on the Simferopol TV tower

CrimeaPRESS reports:

An official ceremony to turn on the architectural and artistic lighting of the television tower took place in Simferopol. The launch was timed to coincide with the anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia. The symbolic launch of the illumination was carried out by the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksenov together with the General Director of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network” Andrei Romanchenko and the director of the RTRS branch “RTPC of the Republic of Crimea” Gennady Gordeev.

As Sergey Aksyonov emphasized, in 2014 the Crimeans made a strong-willed decision and unanimously chose for themselves the path of development and prosperity as part of their great Motherland — Russia. To commemorate the tenth anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia, the television tower was painted in the colors of the state flag of the Russian Federation.

The facility has modern lighting equipment, which includes more than 9 thousand LED lamps and 10 spotlights. The 16-meter-high media façade will be able to broadcast videos, images, and inscriptions.

According to Andrei Romanchenko, the return of Crimea and Sevastopol became a symbol of the revival of a great, proud and sovereign Russia. The General Director of RTRS thanked Sergei Aksenov for his constant support of the federal enterprise’s initiatives for the development of television and radio broadcasting and communications in the republic, and also congratulated the Crimeans on this significant date.

In turn, Gennady Gordeev said that today the Simferopol television tower, the height of which reaches almost 200 meters, fully complies with regulatory standards. Over the past five years, work has been carried out to unload the facility, dismantle old analogue systems, and carry out major repairs and strengthening.
