In October, the maximum mortgage rate reached 24.8% per annum, reported TASS senior project leader at Frank RG Olga Filippova. The minimum rate on market mortgages was 19.7% per annum. Frank RG analysts studied how mortgage rates changed in the first two weeks of October 2024.
According to Frank RG monitoring data, for the period from October 1 to October 14, minimum mortgage rates increased by an average of 0.85 percentage points. up to 19.7% per annum. The maximum rates increased by 1.25 percentage points, to 24.8% per annum.
In the first two weeks of October, Russian banks issued mortgages worth 121.6 billion rubles. This is 32% less than the same September value. The issuance of housing loans has slowed down due to rising mortgage rates, Filippova explained.
The situation in the mortgage market after the completion of the massive preferential program remains difficult in the context of continued growth in rates, Frank RG analysts note. Over the nine months of 2024, demand decreased by 23% compared to last year. According to Filippova, this is the most dramatic drop among all banking products.
