The first payment on preferential mortgage programs has increased. On September 20, a decree increasing it from 15% to 20% comes into force.
The down payment must now be 20% or more for all major preferential programs — mortgages for new buildings, family, Far Eastern mortgages, IT mortgages, mortgages for new territories and even temporarily suspended rural mortgages. Sberbank, VTB, Gazprombank, Alfa Bank have already changed the terms of the programs on their websites. The changes will affect both new applications and decisions made by the bank before September 20, if the borrower enters into a transaction on September 20, the VTB press service reported. That is, even if the mortgage application was approved a long time ago (as a rule, the loan must be issued within 90 days after approval), the interest rate will remain the same for the borrower, but you will have to urgently find another 5% of the cost of housing to make a down payment. at 15%, and at 20%notes Russian newspaper.
