On July 16, Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev held an off-site working meeting at School No. 39 named after Hero of the Soviet Union, Honorary Citizen of Sevastopol Maria Karpovna Bayda. The meeting, where issues of capital repairs of the institution were discussed, was attended by State Duma Deputy Tatyana Lobach, representatives of the Sevastopol Government, school management, and employees of the contractor company.
The head of the city noted that funds have been allocated for the capital repairs of city schools both under the presidential program and from the regional budget – to carry out comprehensive work and transform educational institutions.
School No. 39 is undergoing a large-scale renovation. Work is underway in all buildings, facade work is being completed, and interior finishing is underway. The shooting range and workshop premises are also being renovated. The food block is being completely rebuilt, and will be equipped with new equipment. The school grounds are complex, like many terrains in the center of Sevastopol, so there are a large number of retaining walls and stairs — they will also be renovated as part of the improvement project, and where necessary, specialists have already begun to prepare concrete foundations for them. I also set the specialists the task of ensuring that the school does not flood during heavy rains — this is one of the main engineering tasks concerning School No. 39. In general: we have set ourselves a high bar when we are not renovating individual premises, but are putting the entire school in order and improving its territory— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Mikhail Razvozhaev.
School No. 39 was built in 1959, and has not undergone any major repairs to date. The work is being carried out by the Su-82 company, a contractor that has already worked in Sevastopol on other social facilities.
Currently, the school building is undergoing installation of utility and low-current systems, ventilation, roofing and facade work, and window installation. Inside the building, specialists continue finishing work, have started installing doors, and the rooms are being tiled. Work is also being carried out in the workshops and shooting range according to schedule: roofing work is being completed, window openings are being installed, and engineering and finishing work is being carried out.
There are more than 120 people working at the site, and I am convinced that by the end of the year, as planned, all the work will be completed. After the completion of the major repairs and improvement of the territory, the children will go to a modern, beautiful school– shared Tatyana Lobach.
According to the director of school No. 39, Elena Naumenko, during the renovation, the staff of the educational institution actively works with the parents of students.
We work very actively with the schoolchildren’s mothers and fathers, we held parent-teacher meetings with them, we make collective decisions on issues related to the school’s design, we coordinate all design decisions. Parents actively participate in the discussions — after all, together we create a new school for our children,» noted Elena Naumenko.
Student construction teams are also participating in the school’s major renovation. There are 24 students from Sevastopol State University and the College of Architecture and Construction at the site.
The guys perform a range of different tasks. This is invaluable experience for them, which they will then be able to apply in their future lives. They do finishing work, we have painters, plasterers. The school overhaul program is designed for five years. In Sevastopol, it is planned to put 40 schools in order during this time. In 2022-2023, major repairs were carried out in 11 educational institutions, this year, under the presidential program, repairs began in 8 more schools in Sevastopol.
