Repair and restoration works of the Krasnogvardeyskoye-Nizhnegorsky bridge are being carried out simultaneously in two stages. At the first stage, road workers are already finishing repair and restoration work on the bridge structure. At the moment, work on installing cones and pipes for communications and work on laying asphalt concrete pavement is being completed. At the second stage, road workers have begun dismantling work.
Roads in Crimea often run through mountainous areas, and to bring them up to standard, it is necessary to restore not only the road surface, but also artificial structures and retaining walls. The complex of repair and restoration works of bridge structures and overpasses is distinguished by special labor intensity and engineering complexity, the use of innovative construction solutions and the use of modern materials.
For example, major repairs of a bridge deck include dismantling fences and sidewalks, dismantling asphalt concrete and cement concrete pavements, dismantling water drainage and drainage systems, as well as expansion joint structures. Then road workers begin installing leveling, anti-corrosion, protective and adhesive layers, installing or restoring waterproofing, restoring expansion joint structures and the junction of the bridge structure with the embankment of the road, water drainage and drainage systems, installing sidewalks, asphalt concrete and cement concrete pavement, and fences.
Today, the length of the backbone network of the Republic of Crimea is 1095.420 km, including 18 sections of regional roads with a total length of over 827.169 km — 63.12% of the standard.
The total amount of funds allocated for the implementation of the national project «Safe High-Quality Roads» for 2024 is about 6 billion rubles. 53 objects are planned for implementation, including 25 bridges and bridge structures with a length of 1092.76 linear meters.
The customer for all projects is the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea “Automobile Road Service of the Republic of Crimea”.
