The progress of capital repairs of schools in Sevastopol was discussed at a staff meeting in the Government chaired by Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev. As reported by the Director of the Capital Construction Department Ivan Pogodin, within the framework of the regional project «Modernization of school education systems of the city of Sevastopol», implemented on the instructions of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, in 2024-2025 it is planned to carry out capital repairs of 11 objects in 8 educational institutions of the city.
This year, we are carrying out major repairs in eight schools. The schools are located in different districts of the city: in Leninsky, Nakhimovsky, Balaklavsky. The program provides for schools of a one-year cycle — state contracts for work have been concluded until the end of the year, we plan to complete work at these facilities in 2024, the other part of the state contracts for major repairs has been concluded for a two-year period. However, the work is ahead of schedule, and therefore the facilities will be completed ahead of schedule and in stages. Contractors have been tasked with completing major repairs and improvements by September 1, 2025— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Ivan Pogodin.
Considering that the institutions being renovated bear the names of heroes, Mikhail Razvozhaev set the task of paying tribute to the memory of significant figures in history, in particular, by decorating part of the school facades with murals depicting the hero whose name was given to the educational institution.
Work is progressing well at the above-mentioned facilities. Glazing and roofing work are already being completed in many schools, interior finishing has already begun, and the pace is planned to increase in the summer. The current construction readiness allows us to confidently state that the work will be completed by the end of this year. Regarding the two-year cycle schools, there is currently no risk of not handing over the facilities by September 1. We are in constant contact with the customer and the contractor, and we resolve all capital repair issues promptly, — the director of the department stated.
The head of the department added that, on the instructions of the governor, the progress of capital repairs of schools is under special control. In parallel with repairs under the presidential program, work is also being carried out on other objects in schools.
In order to carry out a comprehensive overhaul of general education institutions, state contracts have been additionally concluded for the repair of four more facilities in three schools in the region undergoing repair. We are talking about the following facilities: the canteen at school No. 13, workshop buildings at school No. 17 and school No. 9. These facilities will be commissioned in stages — by September 1, 2025— Ivan Pogodin commented.
Let us recall that the school overhaul program is designed for five years. In Sevastopol, during this time, it is planned to complete work in 71 buildings in 40 schools. In 2022-2023, repairs were completed on 20 objects in 11 educational institutions.
