“Marine accident”: a jet ski and a catamaran collided in the waters of Sudak Bay

A man died.
On September 24, at 12:50, the duty station of the Crimean LU of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for transport received a message from an inspector of the State Inspectorate for Small Boats that in the Black Sea, in Sudak Bay, 300 meters from the shore, a jet ski had collided with catamaran.
An investigative and operational group of the Crimean Line Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Transport went to the scene of the incident, whose employees established that as a result of the collision, a 54-year-old resident of the city of Temryuk, who was in the catamaran, received multiple injuries incompatible with life. He died at the scene.
Based on the results of the inspection, materials regarding a 31-year-old resident of Rostov-on-Don, who was driving a jet ski without permits, will be sent to the investigative authorities to make a procedural decision. The Rostov resident was sent for a medical examination, the results of which showed the presence of alcohol in the blood— reported the transport police.
The culprit of the fatal “maritime accident” was detained and placed in an administrative detention cell.
