Master classes for disabled people using lower limb prostheses are held in Sevastopol

In Sevastopol, master classes for disabled people using lower limb prostheses are held at the initiative of the all-Russian public organization of the disabled «Support». 12 in July, a master class in the open area was held by the co-founders of the organization Alexei Egorov and Vladimir Kiselev.

Our task is to provide an accessible environment, transforming urban infrastructure for the accessibility of people with limited mobility. For the participants of the master class, a practical seminar was held on the topic «Functional capabilities and technical features of prostheses of the upper and lower extremities.» The trainees learned about the appointment procedure and individual selection of prosthesis components, and also demonstrated the level of prosthesis proficiency in social conditions.

The participants on their prostheses learned to overcome ups and downs, walk on a ramp, steps of varying complexity and height, trained coordination, including when walking on a beam, mastered a balancing platform, and also rode scooters and bicycles.

The implementation of a pilot project to create a system of assistance to people in difficult life situations suggests that a person will be able to receive help not only from authorities and public organizations, but also from psychiatrists and psychologists. Also, one of the projects will be the creation of a rehabilitation center in Sevastopol, where it will be possible to get trained for prosthetics and the procedure of prosthetics itself , the vice-governor notes.

Also, as part of a series of master classes 00 in July, a round table will be held, the participants of which Together with specialists from the healthcare system, medical and social expertise, the regional branch of the Social Insurance Fund, representatives of the professional community, they will discuss topical issues of rehabilitation of the disabled, including at an early stage, problems of providing prosthetic and orthopedic products, regional practice of applying legislation in the field of protecting the rights of this category citizens.
