May 18 — In the republic there are events dedicated to the day of memory of the victims of deportation from Crimea

According to Sergei Aksyonov, May 18 is a mournful date for all Crimeans, which unites citizens and recalls not only a crime committed against innocent people, but also to overcome its consequences.
The Decree of our President of April 21, 2014 on measures to rehabilitation of repressed peoples and state support for their revival and development restored historical justice. We express deep sympathy for the victims of unreasonable repression, their family and friends. We will always remember the tragedy of deportation and we will not allow its repetition— emphasized the head of the republic.
Sergei Aksyonov noted that today the unity, mutual respect, respect for traditions, spiritual and cultural heritage of all peoples lies at the heart of the development of Crimea.
We have long overcome all problematic issues. The respect that Crimeans manifest all nationalities in relation to each other is an example for everyone. According to President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, the strength and advantage of Russia in its multinationality. This is true. We are moving forward all together, like a single monolith. We continue to build our common safe and comfortable future— emphasized the head of Crimea.
Sergei Aksyonov added that anyone can remember his family and friends in the territory of the memorial complex in lilacs.
The event was attended by the Minister of Internal Policy, Information and Communications of the Republic of Crimea Albert Kurshutov, Chairman of the State Committee on Interethnic Relations of the Republic of Crimea Ruslan Yakubov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Tsekov, Muslims of Crimea Hadi Emirali Ablaev, representatives of public and religious organizations, others.
