May 19 is Job the Pea Tree Day. The dews are blooming
CrimeaPRESS reports:
On the Day of Job the Pea-Peater, people said, “the dew is blooming” — dew often fell in the morning. If there was a lot of it, they believed that the harvest would be rich. It was also considered healing.
On May 19, peas, pumpkins and beans were planted. Moreover, this work was accompanied by spells, and they tried to do it at sunset, so that the sparrows would not see and peck the crops.
Weather signs for May 19 are as follows:
- A warm night on Job means there will be a lot of cucumbers, but if it’s cold, there will be a crop failure.
- Heavy dew and clear weather on May 19 — cucumbers will grow.
- No dew in the morning? To a change in weather.
- You can see the catkins on the maples — you can sow beets.
- If sap drips from a broken branch, it means clear weather.
- The wasps chose open places to build their nests — the summer will be damp.
- Fog at dawn — there will be no precipitation.
