Meganom Academy launches first educational program
CrimeaPRESS reports:
From June 29 to July 6, 2023, the Meganom Academy of Creative Industries (Tavrida.ART project) in Crimea hosts a full-time module of the Publishing Business educational program, which brings together young industry professionals from all over Russia. During the week, the participants, together with experts from the media company Shkulev Media Holding, will walk the path of creating the Tavrida.ART magazine from drafting a content plan to layout and design of the publication. As a result of the program, the Tavrida.ART magazine will be presented at the festival in August.
The course «Publishing» became the first educational program of the Academy of Creative Industries «Meganom», which officially opened its doors to students on May 27, 2023. The Meganom Academy is a new concept of an educational environment for young representatives of culture, art and creative industries, which has become the core of the Tavrida.ART youth and educational resort and one of the leading platforms in Russia for creating projects in the field of creative industries. The year-round educational center allows young creators to receive professional education under the supervision of recognized leaders in the field and take part in interactive projects prepared in collaboration with leading institutions and corporate partners.
As part of the New Media block, programs for specialists in the media and blogosphere, publishing and literary trends will be presented. The Publishing Business program was developed jointly with the media company Shkulev Media Holding for publishers, art directors, journalists, interviewers, editors and producers. As part of the intensive, participants will be able to create a unique product from scratch — the Tavrida.ART magazine.
In a team of like-minded people and professionals, the listeners will come up with the concept of the magazine, work as interviewers, develop the design and make up the strips of the future issue. The training will be held under the guidance of leading experts from Shkulev Media Holding. At the end of the course, each participant will receive a certificate, as well as a freshly printed magazine — the result of the work done. The best participants will be selected to the Tavrida.ART editorial team and will be able to apply for an internship in such publications as Marie Claire, Psychologies, and Vokrug Sveta.
In our fast-paced and intense Publishing program, we faced two creative challenges at once: to come up with a blended learning format for students that would fit both the theoretical part and real practice and, most importantly, to invent, plan and create a real magazine from scratch. We can say that everything is working out with the format — we worked closely online, and now we met at the site of the Meganom Academy and plunged into the editorial work: we are looking for heroes, doing interviews, producing shootings and writing texts. I would like to believe that our efforts will soon take the form of a strong, innovative, immersive and stylish printed product that will become a reflection of the unique Tavrida.ART project and a piece of its soul that can be shared with the whole world— says Victoria Pavlenko, curator of the Publishing Business program, editor-in-chief of ELLE GIRL magazine, editor-in-chief of the popular content of Shkulev Media Holding women’s websites.
The Publishing Business program is being implemented in a mixed format: the face-to-face module runs from June 29 to July 6 at the site of the Meganom Academy. In parallel with the offline intensive training takes place on the online platform. At the face-to-face module, participants will learn about the role of the publisher in the formation of the content of materials, the intricacies of producing support for a publishing project, interacting with potential advertisers and, in practice, will sort out the mistakes that editorial boards and publishers face, as well as write articles for a future issue.
Alena Rakitina, producer of Literature, New Media and Hospitality Industry, is the head of the educational program. Among the program experts: publisher, brand director of Marie Claire, Psychologies, «Vokrug sveta», lecturer in the field of publishing Elena Tkach, deputy chief editor of Marie Claire, teacher of the course in editorial Raisa Murashkina, art director of Marie Claire, Psychologies , art direction and design course teacher Olga Shunyaeva and creative producer of special projects Shkulev Media Holding, course teacher in production and advertising Olga Drozdova. The program is curated by Victoria Pavlenko, editor-in-chief of ELLE GIRL magazine, editor-in-chief of the popular content of Shkulev Media Holding women’s websites.
