In Sevastopol, a preliminary investigation into a criminal case has been completed against two foreigners and three local residents accused of attempting to sell drugs on an especially large scale as part of an organized criminal group.

According to the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, during the investigation it was established that in 2022, a 35-year-old resident of a neighboring state who lived in the Republic of Crimea, in order to earn additional income, found a courier position in one of the online stores selling prohibited substances.

Having contacted the anonymous administrator of the drug market, the foreigner agreed to work for a monetary reward. His responsibilities included receiving large quantities of criminal goods, packaging them into smaller parts and single doses with the further formation of hiding places in the territory of Sevastopol and Crimea.

Then the man invited his 32-year-old compatriot, with whom he lived in the same apartment, to join the criminal enterprise, to which the friend agreed. The organized group also included three residents of Sevastopol aged 20 to 24 years, who served as pawnbrokers and carriers of the potion between the Lipetsk region, the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol— the Sevastopol police revealed details.

According to investigators, from February to July 2023, the accomplices made 12 attempts to sell almost 6 kg of alpha-PVP, a mixture of mephedrone and alpha-PVP with a total weight of more than 300 grams, more than 110 g of cocaine, as well as MDMA and mephedrone.

However, the drug traffickers failed to carry out their plans; as a result of operational search activities, they were detained by officers of the Department of the Interior Ministry of Russia for the city of Sevastopol with the force support of police special forces, as well as operatives of the Department of the Interior Ministry of Russia for the Lipetsk Region. Narcotic drugs have been withdrawn from illegal circulation.
