Members of a gang that sold drugs on a large and especially large scale were punished in Sevastopol

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The Gagarinsky District Court, agreeing with the position of the public prosecutors of the Sevastopol Prosecutor’s Office, on the basis of the jury’s verdict, delivered a guilty verdict against two residents of the Krasnodar Territory. They were convicted under Part 3 of Art. 30 — p.p. «a», «d» part 4 of Art. 228.1 and under part 3 of Art. 30 — part 5 of Art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempt to illegally sell narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances using the Internet by an organized group on a large and especially large scale).

The jury concluded that the perpetrators were guilty and did not deserve leniency for their deeds.

The court found that a resident of the Krasnodar Territory, born in 1985, created an online store to earn money from the illegal sale of drugs. To organize his activities, he attracted his acquaintances, who packaged and laid out in hiding places the narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances he purchased. Thus, in October-November 2020, the accused as part of an organized group committed five crimes related to drug trafficking in the city of Sevastopol— reports the press service of the prosecutor’s office of Sevastopol.

As a result of operational-search activities by the employees of the UNK UMVD of Russia for the city of Sevastopol, the activities of an organized criminal group were stopped. More than 2.5 kg of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, including methadone, mephedrone, MDMA, «salt» and amphetamine, were seized from caches in the Gagarinsky and Balaklavsky districts of Sevastopol, as well as at the place of residence of the attackers.

The investigation was conducted by the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Sevastopol.

The court sentenced the guilty to imprisonment for terms of 23 years and 17 years to be served in a strict regime correctional colony.

Earlier, by the verdict of the Gagarinsky District Court of the city of Sevastopol, another member of the said organized group was sentenced for similar crimes to 4 years and 6 months in prison to be served in a penal colony of strict regime— reminded the prosecutor’s office.

Consideration by the court of the criminal case against two more accomplices — residents of the city of Sevastopol, who acted as courier-depositors of narcotic drugs, continues.
