Memorial Day of Chekhov was held in the Crimean Literary and Art Memorial Museum-Reserve

With the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea, the Day of Remembrance of the great playwright Anton Chekhov was held in Yalta. By tradition, in July, the staff of the Crimean Literary and Artistic Memorial Museum-Reserve, together with residents and guests of the city, laid flowers to the monument to the writer in Seaside Park.

Throughout the day, various events were organized in each of the departments of the museum complex. So, in the garden of the House-Museum of A.P. Chekhov hosted a poetic marathon «Under Chekhov’s balcony» with the participation of Yalta poets.

In Gurzuf at Dacha A.P. Chekhov and O.L. Knipper held a lecture during which the audience was told about the writer’s illness, his unfulfilled plans and hopes. And in the museum «Chekhov and Crimea» on this day, thematic author’s excursions dedicated to the memory of the famous writer were held.
