Memorial plaques to the hero of the SVO, the director of the school and the painter will appear in Sevastopol

The government of Sevastopol agreed to install three memorial plaques on the buildings.
We continue to perpetuate the memory of the fallen heroes of the special military operation. Commemorative plaques will be installed for all soldiers who studied in Sevastopol schools. We will also make decisions at a meeting of the toponymic commission for naming streets— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the governor of the city Mikhail Razvozhaev.
In memory of a participant in a special military operation, Captain 2nd Rank Alexander Bobrov, a memorial plaque will be installed on the facade of the building of school No. 48, which the hero graduated from in his time.
From the beginning of the special military operation, Alexander Bobrov participated in and led the landing of amphibious assault forces from the landing craft of the division and forces subordinate to him in the port of Berdyansk. He was one of the first to enter the port of Berdyansk. On May 8, 2022, he led the demining operation in the port of Mariupol, was on the Raptor anti-sabotage boat and personally led the operation. He was mortally wounded by a shell fragment. Participated in the implementation of special tasks: in Abkhazia, in Ukraine, in the Syrian Arab Republic. He was awarded the medal of the Order for Merit to the Fatherland, the medal For Military Valor and other awards.
For courage, courage and dedication shown in the performance of military duty, he was awarded the Order of Courage (posthumously) by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation.
The memory of the director of the 38th school, Galina Ivanitskaya, will be immortalized on the facade of the educational institution, which she led for 35 years.
Galina Ivanitskaya from 1998 to 2010 was a deputy of the Leninsky District Council of Deputies of 3 convocations and from 2010 to 2014. — Deputy of the City Council, headed the commission on education. She was awarded diplomas for many years of conscientious work, for active deputy activity, in 2006 she was awarded the badge of honor «For services to the hero city of Sevastopol.»
At the initiative of the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society in honor of the outstanding traveler, painter Vasily Vasilyevich Vereshchagin, a memorial plaque will be installed on the territory of St. George’s Monastery.
In Sevastopol, Vasily Vereshchagin lived and worked actively in 1865, 1896, 1897 and 1899, he wrote a total of more than 30 sketches, which were very successful at numerous exhibitions. Vereshchagin depicted Cape Fiolent in several of his paintings, stopping at the courtyard of St. George’s Monastery in 1899.
The Architectural Council supported the installation of three new plaques.
