Metropolitan Tikhon presented his new book in Simferopol — “The Death of an Empire. Russian lesson»
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The presentation of the book by Metropolitan Tikhon of Simferopol and Crimea “The Death of the Empire. Russian lesson.» Journalists, social activists, deputies, teachers and students gathered at two venues, in the studio of TK Crimea24 and TASS, were able to obtain comprehensive information about the new book of Metropolitan Tikhon and ask the author questions.
The topic of the conversation was not limited to the theses and content of the new book. The conversation turned to the fate of modern Russia, patriotism and education of the younger generation, politics and North Military District, historical personalities and geopolitical forecasts. In such a leisurely “lecture” form and questions and answers, the presentation of the book lasted for more than three hours.
And still the author did not give answers or instructions for action. Yes, patriotism is good, but ideology is not always useful to society… On the other hand, excessive patriotism will sooner or later lead to nationalism, the idea of the superiority of a nation, a country over the rest of the world, and ideology will at least provide the “framework of what is permitted”…
Two approaches? And so on for all the issues raised, especially the associative parallels between Russia at the beginning of the 20th and 21st centuries. Each reader will give his own answers. Moreover, the book contains a lot of facts, unique data and evidence. And these are not notes from an “amateur”. The presentation was attended by historian Pavel Kuzenkov, scientific consultant of the publication “The Death of the Empire. Russian lesson.»
The first edition of the book “The Death of an Empire. Russian Lesson» will be sold in 50 thousand copies. It is being prepared for publication by the Orthodox publishing house of the Pskov-Pechersk Monastery “Free Wanderer”. The book will be available for purchase in secular bookstores, as well as in church shops and marketplaces.
