Mikhail Razvozhaev congratulated Sevastopol scientists on Russian Science Day

CrimeaPRESS reports:

A round table was held in Sevastopol on February 8, the participants of which were employees of SevSU, the Institute of Biology of the Southern Seas named after. A.O. Kovalevsky RAS, Marine Hydrophysical Institute RAS, Sevastopol State University. The governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, presented gratitude to the scientists on the occasion of the holiday and noted the high pace of development of science in the city.

As the chairman of the supervisory board of Northern State University, I cannot help but note the pace at which the scientific field has been developing in recent years. I mean the “Priority 2030” program, and our REC “MoreAgroBioTech”, and many innovative developments that our specialists are engaged in at universities and scientific institutions. I congratulate you on your holiday and thank you for the work you are doing: science is becoming popular, more and more young people are coming into this field, this is very important– the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the head of the city.

Acting Rector of Sevastopol State University Vladimir Nechaev also thanked his colleagues for their work and emphasized that many graduates of the Sevastopol university are engaged in scientific activities.

Last year, we collected statistics on all young employees who went to work at academic institutions on the Crimean Peninsula, and it turned out that over half were graduates of Sevastopol State University. I wish everyone involved in science inexhaustible curiosity and success in new professional achievementsnotes Vladimir Nechaev.

The round table participants discussed new developments and current issues in the scientific field. Today, Sevastopol scientists are paying a lot of attention to the development of unmanned vehicles — it is believed that after the creation of a heavy transport drone, our city has already entered the higher school of drone engineering. During the meeting, they discussed the prospects for the development of the MoreAgroBioTech REC for 2025-2030 — scientists plan to continue the development of unmanned aircraft systems, in particular, the development of components and the creation of finished devices.

Another important area, which will also be reflected in the program of activities of the REC, is related to environmental and climate monitoring of coastal areas and scaling monitoring systems to other regions. They also discussed the development of technologies in the field of wireless energy transmission: Sevastopol specialists have long been immersed in this issue.

Representatives of the Institute of Biology of the Southern Seas named after. A.O. Kovalevsky RAS and the Marine Hydrophysical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences spoke about their work in the field of environmental monitoring, foreign expeditions, and ocean research. We also discussed the personnel issue — in particular, we raised the topic of the need to train oceanologists.

Also at the meeting were young scientists and master’s students from Northern State University who participated in an expedition to Egypt, where they studied ancient tombs and created digital models of them: the guys even managed to make a documentary film based on the results of the expedition.

Young scientists also spoke about their achievements. The meeting participants planned to further explore the issue of creating a joint technology park between the city and the university. SevSU is already filling the city with promising young entrepreneurs: this year alone, 28 university graduates graduated with their own businesses.
