There is such an expression: «Sevastopol smells of sea, gunpowder and glory.» Indeed, every street of our city stores the memory of the exploits of the people who defended it.

February 23 is the day when we pay tribute to everyone who stood and stands guarded by our homeland. Today we honor those who defended and protect our earth, our sky, our sea. Your strength, courage and devotion are the basis of our calmness and confidence in the future.

And the day of the people’s will is the day when we recall how the Sevastopol residents made their historical choice. 11 years ago, Sevastopol was the first to raise the flag of Russian spring, saying his desire to be with Russia. It was a real folk impulse, which showed the whole world that the hero city is the heart of Russian glory and the Russian soul.

Dear Sevastopol! Let the world, prosperity and mutual understanding will always be in your homes. May our children grow in a strong and prosperous country, proud of its history and building its future. And we, like our ancestors, will do everything so that Sevastopol remains a symbol of courage and fidelity to the Motherland.
