Misbehaved at the wheel and was left without a Skoda. An instructive story from the Simferopol region

CrimeaPRESS reports:

A Skoda car was confiscated from a resident of the Simferopol region for drunk driving.

The Prosecutor’s Office of the Zheleznodorozhny District of the city of Simferopol supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a 36-year-old resident of the Simferopol District. He was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (driving a vehicle by a person in a state of intoxication, subject to administrative punishment for a similar act)— the prosecutor’s office said.

The court found that the convicted person, having been brought to administrative responsibility for driving a vehicle while intoxicated, did not draw the proper conclusions for himself and in mid-April 2024 was stopped again by traffic police officers in Persikovy Lane. The driver’s behavior aroused suspicion among traffic police officers about his being intoxicated, but the driver refused to undergo a medical examination at the place of the stop, as well as in a medical institution.

The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the guilty party to a fine of 200 thousand rubles and deprivation of the right to engage in activities related to the management of vehicles for a period of 2 years. The Skoda car driven by the defendant was confiscated for the benefit of the state.
