The traditional All-Russian event “Night of Museums” took place in Sevastopol. This year it was dedicated to the Year of the Family and was held under the motto “From generation to generation. Family heirlooms.» There were seven locations in the Hero City, which were visited by 11,163 visitors.
The all-Russian event “Night of Museums” in our city is traditionally taking place in a wonderful atmosphere. This year the theme of the event was the continuity of generations with the motto “From generation to generation. Family heirlooms.» In the Year of the Family, it is especially important to provide opportunities for family leisure, so that everyone has the opportunity to create their own warm memories. More than 11,000 people visited our museums this year, many with their whole family. It was interesting for everyone: both adults and children, and this is the most important thing– the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the director of the department of culture, Angela Sumakova.
Traditionally, the Museum of the Defense of Sevastopol has become one of the largest venues in the city. More than 5,000 people on this day went on excursions, attended numerous interactive events and master classes.
We came with the whole family. We took our children with us because we ourselves believe that the history of our country should be studied from youth, from an early age. It’s great that you can not just visit museums for free, but actually take part in activities — just the thing for children. It’s interesting for a child to become a participant in the event. The brightest and most visited site of the evening was Malakhov Kurgan. Guests were able to travel and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of four periods at once — the Crimean, First World War, Great Patriotic War and a special military operation.
On the territory of the memorial complex there were interactive platforms with the participation of reenactors, who told visitors about how soldiers lived in the field, and also introduced them to household items, uniforms and weapons of wartime.
For the first time, two unique exhibitions “War Passed Through the Family” and “In the Service of the Fatherland” were presented to visitors. Naval Dynasty of the Butakovs”, dedicated to the families who valiantly defended Sevastopol, as well as the interactive exhibition “Weapons of Victory”, the exhibition of Wehrmacht trophies, the exhibition “NWO: weapons of the Russian army and trophies”, the exhibition “ZOV of hearts”.
Throughout the festival, the pop-brass orchestra of the Folk Art Center and creative groups of the Crimean State Philharmonic and the Nakhimov School performed for the guests.
Also, for the first time, visitors to the event were shown the play “Sashka” performed by the Theater of Young Spectators on the site of Malakhov Kurgan.
In the Sevastopol Art Museum named after. By M. P. Kroshitsky, residents and guests of the city could admire the painting by A. A. Deineka “Defense of Sevastopol,” which was brought to the Hero City specially for the 80th anniversary of the liberation from the Nazi invaders.
At the State Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve «Tavrichesky Chersonesos» there was a presentation of the book «Return to Chersonesos», written by the head of the publishing sector of the museum-reserve Andrei Zaikov and published by the «Bronze Horseman» publishing house, and then a new exhibition of the same name opened. In addition, museum visitors were treated to fascinating interactive activities and a master class. Thus, the end of the day was a master class on sketching, which was held in the Byzantine courtyard by the museum’s restoration artist Polina Zhukova.
