More than 180 thousand tourists vacationed in Crimea for the New Year
CrimeaPRESS reports:
During the New Year holidays — from December 27 to January 8 — 181.3 thousand tourists vacationed in Crimea. This is 2% higher than in the same period last year. Such data was published by the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea.
To celebrate New Year and Christmas, the majority of guests — 50% — arrived on the peninsula via the Crimean Bridge by car and bus. Another 31% of Russians preferred to travel by train, and 19% by land route through new constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
As reported by the Ministry of Resorts of the Republic of Crimea, more than 250 accommodation facilities with a total capacity of 65.8 thousand beds operated during the New Year holidays in Crimea. The average occupancy of hotels and sanatoriums was over 60%, while leading resort complexes with developed tourism infrastructure were 95% or higher occupied on holidays.
According to hoteliers, they received their first New Year’s bookings already in August. Early booking, loyal pricing, various promotional offers, as well as the possibility of recovery allowed Crimea to enter the top five most popular New Year’s destinations in Russia. Many guests noted that the New Year turned out to be warm, family-friendly, truly cozy, just as we wanted– emphasized the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea Vadim Volchenko.
He added that a fairly decent occupancy rate for winter and spring remains and there is already active booking of summer holidays in Crimea, which, of course, is also good news.
