More than 2,000 families have improved their living conditions in Sevastopol at the expense of maternity capital since the beginning of the year

In 2022 more than two thousand Sevastopol families sent maternity capital to improve housing conditions. According to the head of the department for establishing maternity (family) capital of the Sevastopol Pension Fund, Yulia Lazaryuk, this is one of the most popular ways to use maternity capital funds in our city — since the beginning of the year, 80 % of applications.

Thus, more than one thousand families have partially or completely repaid a loan or a down payment for the purchase or construction of housing with maternity capital. More 900 families improved their living conditions without borrowing money.

In total, for these purposes, the Pension Fund of Sevastopol transferred to families over 585, 2 million rubles, which is % of all funds allocated this year to provide maternity capital.

You can spend maternity capital on improving housing conditions when the child, in connection with the birth (adoption) of whom the right to maternity capital arose, turns three years old.

An exception is the repayment of the principal debt or down payment on a mortgage. In this case, you can spend the funds of the certificate immediately after the birth or adoption of a child , the department reminded.

Since April 2020, Sevastopol residents can apply for the purchase of housing on credit (mortgage) using maternity capital directly at the RNCB bank, where the loan is opened. The bank sends applications and necessary documents to the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation via electronic communication channels, which makes it possible to expedite the disposal of maternity capital.
