More than 2,700 trees will be planted in Yevpatoria in place of those that withered and fell in a storm in November
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Deputies of the Evpatoria City Council agreed to accept planting material of forest plants from the state property of the Republic of Crimea into municipal ownership. The advisory decision was made at an extraordinary session on June 27.
As stated in the explanatory note to the draft resolution, more than 2,700 trees are expected to be planted in the city in the fall. Ash, oleaster and maple trees will appear in Moinaksky Park, on Chapaeva Street, 60th Anniversary of the Komsomol and along Pobedy Avenue, as well as in the suburban settlements of Zaozernoe, Mirny and Novoozernoe.
According to the head of the Yevpatoria administration, Alexander Yuryev, some of the trees will be planted in place of plants damaged during the “storm of the century” in November 2023.
Stumps are currently being removed throughout the city; these are the trees that were damaged and dried out as a result of the hurricane. Trees will be planted in their place in the fall.– the press service quotes Alexander Yuryev.
He also reported that some more seedlings will be used to replace dried-out greenery on the Lazurnaya Embankment.
People are trying to save the trees there, but dendrologists have already examined them and said that it is useless, the plants are dead, so they must be dug up in the fall and everything replaced– said the head of the Evpatoria administration.
He added that the seedlings will be watered by machines and manually; funds for these purposes have already been allocated.
