More than 260 thousand tourists visited the Republic of Crimea during the May holidays

On May holidays and weekends, the Republic of Crimea was visited by 266.7 thousand tourists, which is 12% more than in the same period last year. This was announced by the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov.
The head of the republic informed that 72% of vacationers arrived via the Crimean Bridge by car and bus, another 25% by rail and 3% through the historical regions of Russia.
In general, as Sergei Aksyonov clarified, since the beginning of the year, the flow of tourists to the republic has exceeded 800 thousand people. “Tourists were received by about 350 accommodation facilities, the average occupancy exceeded 50%, and large resort complexes with developed infrastructure were occupied up to 100%– the press service quotes the Head of Crimea.
According to experts, Crimea remains the most affordable region of Russia in terms of the cost of vacation.
In addition, the demand for summer holidays has increased.
The active booking period reaches 120 days, and volumes have increased by 50% compared to last year. Tourists are actively booking hotels with well-developed resort infrastructure, suitable for family holidays, and sanatoriums with a wide range of treatment programs— said the Head of the Republic.
At the same time, the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea, together with hoteliers, has developed a number of promotions and special offers for guests and residents of the republic. Thus, to stimulate demand, an information campaign “Throw in Crimea” was launched, which involved more than 120 advertising surfaces in Moscow, publications in the media and stories on federal channels.
Sergei Aksyonov expressed confidence that the efforts of the tourism industry will bring positive results and holidays in Crimea will become even more comfortable.
