More than 30 thousand Crimean schoolchildren took part in the Olympiad on financial literacy and entrepreneurship

Olympiad participants from all over the country answered questions and completed tasks on topics including ways to protect against cyber fraud, insurance, financial planning, investing and others.

Schoolchildren showed the best results in a situation of dialogue with attackers: 82% of students identified the scammers and responded correctly to a suspicious message. The most difficult task was the distribution of income and expenses when planning a family budget for several months in advance — only 32% managed it.

As a practical task, the organizers prepared a simulation game “Eco-friendly City” for the participants — schoolchildren learned to choose the most effective strategy for investing in green energy.

Interest in financial literacy issues in Crimea is constantly growing — both among schoolchildren and adults. Even basic knowledge in this vein allows people of any age to more easily master new financial instruments and services, protect their finances from scammers, save and increase their budget, – notes the head of the Bank of Russia Branch for the Republic of Crimea, Igor Tsvetkov. – The format of the Olympiad is attractive due to the ease of presentation of the material, elements of competition, the relevance of the topics and the opportunity to train knowledge in a practical way, so the number of its participants increases every year. In addition, judging by the results, the level of knowledge of schoolchildren is also increasing.

Depending on the number of points scored, students received personalized diplomas, diplomas or certificates.

The organizers of the Olympiad were the Bank of Russia, the Ministry of Finance of Russia, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia and the educational platform Uchi.ru in accordance with the objectives of the national project “Small and Medium Enterprises”.
