More than 300 events are planned in Sevastopol to celebrate the Great Victory

On March 20, the Governor of Sevastopol held a meeting of the organizational committee for the preparation and conduct of events dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and the 81st anniversary of the liberation of the city of Sevastopol from the Nazi invaders.
Before the meeting, the head of the city presented the commemorative medal «80 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.» A participant in the Great Patriotic War, the chairman of the veteran organization of partisans and underground workers of the city of Sevastopol Mikhail Latoch.
The first issue of the meeting of the organizing committee was the holding of festive events in Sevastopol.
This year, more than 300 events are planned — both citywide and local, which will be held in educational institutions, culture and sports. Traditionally, in May, the historical and patriotic festival “Banner of Glory”, the action “Honor and dignity” will be held-the ritual of the merger of the eternal lights of Sevastopol and Crimea into a single eternal flame. The cinemas will show films about victory in the Great Patriotic War, performances will be held in theaters — including charity for veterans, participants in special military operations and members of their families, exhibitions dedicated to victory in the city museums and open areas. On holidays, concerts are planned. Almost all sites will be involved, including for the first time concerts will be held at the New Khersones Museum and Field Complex. Solemn events will take place in all municipalities.
The deputy governor Igor Mikheev reported on payments to veterans:
Payments have already been made from the regional budget: as of today, all 9165 veterans received them. Payments from the federal budget of payments in April-May of this year will receive 1431 veteran of the Great Patriotic War, ”said the vice-governor.
