More than 300 schoolchildren took part in the regional career guidance forum “Prof IT” in Sevastopol

On November 23, 2023, the regional career guidance forum “Prof IT” was held in Sevastopol, organized by the Center for Advanced Professional Training of the State Autonomous Educational Institution “Institute for Educational Development”. More than 300 middle and high school students took part in the event.

The forum included a job fair, a conference “The Digital Future of Sevastopol: New Technologies and Young Personnel”, master classes on programming and 3D printing, a career guidance excursion and a master class at the State Budgetary Educational Institution of Education “Station of Young Technicians”, lectures “The Future of IT Technologies” » and «Information security at defense industry enterprises»; and also in the Technopark “IT Crimea” a career guidance excursion for schoolchildren was held, during which the children were shown and told how real IT specialists work, study and relax.

The speakers were specialists from the Department of Education and Science, the Department of Digital Development, the Employment Center of the city of Sevastopol, representatives of IT companies, including the startup studio «IT Garage», teachers of the State Budgetary Educational Institution of Education «Station of Young Technicians», employees of the SF «Russian Economic University G.V. Plekhanov» and more.

General Director of the IT Garage startup studio Maria Tretyakova spoke at the conference “Digital Future of Sevastopol: New Technologies and Young Personnel.” The expert spoke about current trends in the IT field, how to choose your direction, as well as where and how beginning IT specialists and future IT entrepreneurs can gain new knowledge.

For a successful career in the IT field, not only knowledge is important, but also the ability to work in a team, communicate with clients and solve complex problems. Therefore, it is important to learn not only technical skills, but also soft skills such as communication, leadership and project management.
