More than 300 Sevastopol residents were examined and examined by doctors on World Health Day

CrimeaPRESS reports:

On April 7, 337 residents of the city were able to take a general blood test, undergo fluorography and mammography, do ultrasound and ECG, as well as receive recommendations from a general practitioner and narrow specialists in polyclinics of city hospitals. Such an extended medical examination was carried out as part of the World Health Day. Patients completed a questionnaire, checked their blood pressure, found out their height and weight, and received consultations on various aspects of maintaining health.

Clinical examination is an excellent mechanism for detecting chronic non-communicable diseases at an early stage, when the treatment is most effective. We all understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle and prevention, our task is healthy Sevastopol residents. Clinical examination is carried out on an ongoing basis for residents of our city— the press service of the Sevastopol Government quotes Elena Shamrai, deputy chief physician of the city hospital No. 1.

The medical examination allows you to timely identify deviations in the patient’s health, take them under control and begin treatment. Doctors note that most of the diseases identified during the examinations are related to cardiovascular diseases. In addition, diseases of the respiratory and digestive organs, oncological pathologies, diabetes mellitus and other chronic non-communicable diseases are diagnosed.

Also, within the framework of the World Health Day, in polyclinic No. 1 of the first city hospital, the “School of diabetes mellitus” was organized, classes in which were held under the guidance of endocrinologist Tamara Dakalova. Patients were given information leaflets and a Diabetes Diary provided by the Center for Public Health and Medical Prevention, in which they need to enter daily readings to monitor their condition.

Today we are holding a “School of Diabetes Mellitus”. We draw the patient’s attention, first of all, to learning self-control: what should he focus on, what is normal, what is abnormal, in which case it is necessary to apply for therapy correction, in which case to seek emergency medical help. It is important to educate the patient about the way of life, because, first of all, diabetes mellitus is a change in lifestyle, eating style, eating habits in general, and physical activity. A person must understand what is happening to him and at what stage— emphasizes Tamara Dakalova.

Following the results of the Health Day, Sevastopol residents noted the availability of medical examinations.
