More than 35% of the foreign trade turnover of the Republic of Crimea falls on Belarus

The Head of the Republic of Crimea commented on the development of the republic’s foreign economic activity in his Telegram channel. According to Sergei Aksenov, currently more than 35% of the republic’s foreign trade turnover comes from Belarus. Other major trading partners of Crimea include: Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Syria.
At the same time, the Government of the Republic of Crimea begins to develop cooperation with the countries of Latin America and Africa. According to Sergei Aksenov, this is an important and promising direction.
We continue to work on the formation of a legal framework for interregional cooperation with foreign states and regions of the Russian Federation. Today, three full-format agreements are being implemented at the international level: with the Vitebsk region of the Republic of Belarus, the Republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, as well as two agreements with Nicaragua and Syria in the trade and economic field— said the Head of the Republic.
It is noted that Crimean exports are represented by a variety of goods, including mechanical engineering products, agricultural products, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, inorganic chemical products, fertilizers, furs, prepared animal feed, and plastic products.
On the other hand, Crimea imports consumer goods, vehicles, mechanical components for various types of production, and some types of agricultural products.
As Sergey Aksyonov clarified, a lot of work is being done to establish sister city ties by Crimean municipalities, primarily Yalta, Simferopol and Feodosia.
Relations are also developing with other constituent entities of the Russian Federation. To date, the Republic of Crimea has concluded 64 interregional agreements, the most active of which are with Tatarstan, Bashkiria, Yakutia and a number of other Russian entitiessaid the Head of Crimea.
Sergei Aksyonov added that the republic is always open to cooperation with friends of Crimea and Russia, expressing confidence that the region’s foreign economic relations will strengthen and expand.
