More than 500 Sevastopol residents are participants in the patriotic forum of the Knowledge Society

Sevastopol launched a series of patriotic forums Knowledge.Heroes, which will be held until the end of November in each federal district. The venue for the event was Sevastopol State University, where about 20 speakers held meaningful meetings with the city’s youth on issues of heroism, military and civil exploits, and their significance for future generations.

Welcoming the participants and guests of the forum, Deputy Governor Igor Mikheev noted that the Knowledge.Heroes project is in demand throughout the country, and for Sevastopol it is especially significant and important.

A rich program awaited forum visitors.

As part of the panel discussion “One people — one Victory: the role of everyone in a special operation,” participants discussed the importance of social cohesion in the context of modern challenges. Experts, including advisor to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, military-political expert Yan Gagin, SVO participant, combat veteran, humanitarian mission volunteer Konstantin Samoshin, emphasized that every citizen, regardless of his profession, can make a significant contribution to supporting the military. This could be volunteering, participating in cultural and educational initiatives, as well as informing the public about the achievements of our defenders.

Not only material assistance is important, but also moral support, which can inspire and motivate the militarynotes Konstantin Samoshin.

The young people also had the opportunity to communicate with war correspondents Sergei Georgiev and Dmitry Makeev. The speakers shared their unique stories and experiences of working on the front lines. Supporting the participants in the special operation through art was discussed at a meeting with Honored Artist of the Donetsk People’s Republic, activist of the Popular Front, winner of the National Music Award “Golden Gramophone” Natalya Kachura.

I started singing about my native land while still a student. In 2014, like all residents of Donbass, everything turned upside down inside, life changed dramatically. With those first military operations on May 26, 2014, when the first combat aircraft flew to Donetsk, our family definitely decided that we should be useful to our region. Since then, many uplifting songs on military themes have been written. At some point, I realized that my songs that I perform began to resonate with our military, the defenders of the Motherland, – says Natalya Kachura.

A separate lecture within the forum was devoted to the role of the family for a soldier of the Northern Military District, where the speakers included the head of the regional headquarters of the Committee of Families and Soldiers of the Fatherland of Sevastopol, the wife of the deceased Hero of the Northern Military District Victoria Tupchanenko, the Sevastopol poetess, the wife of a serviceman Maria Batyukhno, the mother of the deceased Hero of the Northern Military District Ksenia Kotova , wife of a serviceman, deputy head of the regional headquarters of the Committee of Families and Soldiers of the Fatherland Victoria Makarenko. In total, more than 10 thematic platforms operated within the framework of the forum. Among other things, master classes on weaving camouflage nets and assembling and disassembling weapons were organized for the guests; military doctors with extensive experience in rescuing the wounded in battle shared their knowledge and skills necessary to provide first aid.

The Knowledge.Heroes forum in Sevastopol was supported by the regional government, SevSU, the First Movement of Sevastopol, the Sevastopol Regiment of the Russian Guard, the Black Sea Fleet, a branch of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, the Committee of Families of Warriors of the Fatherland, PromSvyazBank.
