More than 60 million rubles were raised for the implementation of socially significant youth projects in Sevastopol

Sevastopol summed up the interim results of the 2024 grant campaign. Every year, representatives of the city’s youth become participants in federal grant competitions. This year, based on their results, more than 60 million rubles have already been attracted for the implementation of socially significant projects, including 10.1 million rubles based on the results of Rosmolodezh grant competitions.
In the first half of 2024, 39 applications from the region were submitted to the grant competition «Movement of the First», 6 legal entities became the winners for a total of 35.7 million rubles. Among the projects — the winners of 2024 — the projects «Crimean War. Time of the First» and the regional festival «Battle of the Drones»— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the head of the department for youth affairs Marina Slonchenko.
The following projects received support:
- «Za Sevastopol» — it is planned to create and distribute 20 documentaries about the stories of people, volunteers and artists helping the fighters of the special military operation, create 30 video postcards for the fighters and 5 personal meetings with the participants of the SVO;
- «Road to Native Places» — it is planned to hold events for the socialization of young people who arrived in Sevastopol from the historical regions of the country: interactive excursions and hiking trips, as a result of which participants will acquire knowledge about the cultural traditions and historical past of the city;
- «The Crimean War. Time of the First» — a project in the format of «living history» will tell seven thousand minors about the feat of their peers during the defense of Sevastopol: participants in an interactive format will study military affairs, military traditions, material and spiritual values of the period of the first defense of Sevastopol;
- regional festival «Battle of Drones» — created for the development and self-realization of participants, as well as the organization of their leisure, within the framework of the project it is planned to cover five thousand schoolchildren, students and young professionals aged 13 to 25 years: participants will get acquainted with various types of drones, learn how to assemble, configure and control them, and also take part in the final championship «Battle of Drones», which will be held in the phygital format: completing tasks in online simulators and in real conditions in the Patriot Park, where the finalists will have to go through a search mission and demonstrate the acquired knowledge and skills in practice using all types of drones — air, water and land. The festival finalists will be able to further become mentors for training and training participants in the following project activities, which will be a logical continuation and development of the project.
Following the Presidential Grants Fund competition, two projects received grants totaling 5.1 million rubles:
- the project «Crimean War. Defenders of the Fatherland» is dedicated to the 170th anniversary of the beginning of the first defense of Sevastopol in 1854-1855, its participants will be schoolchildren aged 10 to 18 years, their peers who arrived in Sevastopol from the regions of Ukraine, as well as students of higher educational institutions. The project includes a military-historical festival that will immerse participants in the atmosphere of the Crimean War: they will be able to feel like a part of history, see a reconstruction of events and hear stories from experts. Augmented reality will become an integral part of excursions to the bastions of the first defense;
- The project «Places of the Historical Past 2.0» is a journey through time and space through three-dimensional models of architectural monuments of Sevastopol. The project offers interactive forms, reviving every detail and creating keys to history and culture. The playgrounds created within the framework of the project will become modern historical chronicles that will reveal details of the history of great people and significant events of the city.
In 2024, the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives supported four projects aimed at realizing the potential of young people, in the amount of 9.5 million rubles, including the opening documentary film «Why Mammoths Died Out», the open student KVN league «Master of the Game» and the scientific stand-up festival «Supernova of Science». Based on the results of federal grant competitions, more than 60 million rubles were raised for the implementation of socially significant initiatives of the youth of Sevastopol– the head of the department notes.
Also in 2024, it is planned to hold the second season of the All-Russian Youth Projects Competition, a grant competition within the framework of the youth historical and cultural forum «Origins», and the Presidential Grants Fund. Applications will be accepted until September 10, 2024.
In addition, within the framework of the regional educational youth forum «Youth 92», which is scheduled from September 21 to 25, the All-Russian competition of youth projects of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs will be held. Participants will be able to receive up to 1 million rubles to implement their initiatives.
