More than 83 thousand small and medium-sized businesses operate in Crimea
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In the Republic of Crimea, out of 97.3 thousand taxpayers registered as of September 1, 2024, more than 83 thousand are included in the register of small and medium-sized businesses, which is about 86% of the total number. The Head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, informed about this in his Telegram channel.
As the Head of Crimea clarified, the Government of the Republic of Crimea provides support to SMEs in a number of areas — from tax benefits to property support, and among the most attractive measures for entrepreneurs are special tax regimes.
Since 2017, reduced rates have been in force for SMEs operating under a simplified taxation system: under the “income” system – 4%, under the “income minus expenses” system – 10%. For comparison, the average for Russia is 6% and 15%, respectively. From January 1, 2023, social enterprises also receive state support in the form of reduced tax rates under a simplified taxation system: 1% under the “income” system and 5% under the “income minus expenses” system. – the press service quotes the Head of the Republic.
In addition, a reduced rate of 4% on the unified agricultural tax has been established for agricultural producers.
In July 2020, the republic joined the experiment of introducing a tax on professional income. This tax system also turned out to be in demand: as of September 1, 149.5 thousand self-employed citizens were registered in Crimea, which is almost a third more than in the same period last year.
Another relevant measure Sergei Aksyonov called property support, in which property owned by the republic is transferred to SMEs and the self-employed for a period of at least 5 years on preferential lease terms. “In the first year, 40% of the rent is paid; in the second – 60%, third – 80%, fourth and further – 100%,” explained the Head of Crimea.
Sergey Aksyonov emphasized that small and medium-sized businesses are an important basis of the economy of the Republic of Crimea, and reduced tax rates will continue to apply in 2025.
