More than half a million Crimeans received dental care in medical organizations of the Ministry of Health of Crimea in 2022

During 2022 year 518 254 people received dental care in medical organizations subordinate to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea. Nikolai Lyakhov, Chief Freelance Dentist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea, President of the Association of Dentists of the Republic of Crimea, Chief Physician of the Crimean Republican Dental Center GAUZ RK, spoke about this on International Dentist Day. According to him, specialized assistance in the region is provided by 759 dentists and dentists: general practice dentists — 286, pediatric dentists — , orthopedic dentists — 63, dental therapists — 254, dental surgeons — , orthodontists — 20, dentists – 10.

Specialists continue to master the most modern methods of treatment. In large state dental clinics, doctors introduced implantation using the sinus lift method, microprosthetics of teeth using veneers; the use of plate devices and bracket systems in the orthodontic treatment of anomalies and jaw deformities; the use of orthopedic structures using zirconium dioxide; dental prosthetics using nylon dentures; the use of optical magnification in the treatment of dental diseases; sealing fissures of teeth in children. Doctors also widely use digital technologies in diagnostics and when planning surgical and orthopedic treatments, they have introduced CAD-CAM technologies. Of particular importance is the introduction of oncoscreening for the early detection of precancerous diseases of the oral mucosa and malignant neoplasms at an early stage — since last year, oncoscreening has been actively carried out using the method of luminescent stomatoscopy using AFS devices, — the press notes — service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea.

Assistance is provided at the expense of compulsory health insurance funds and within the framework of commercial services.

In complex clinical cases, republican dentists conduct telemedicine consultations with Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry named after A.I. Evdokimov” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

Work is also underway to improve the material and technical conditions. In 2022 year, work was completed on the overhaul of the dental department of the State Budgetary Institution of Healthcare of the Republic of Crimea “Pervomaiskaya Central District Hospital”. The hall of the children’s department of the GAUZ RK «Kerch Dental Clinic» was repaired, new air conditioners were also installed. Purchased modern dental units in GBUZ RK «Krasnogvardeiskaya Central District Hospital», GAUZ RK «Kerch Dental Clinic», GAUZ RK «Dental Clinic of Feodosia».
