Most Crimeans do not want to pay in stores using the biometric payment system
CrimeaPRESS reports:
8 out of 10 residents of Crimea are not yet ready to pay with their faces, smiling at the camera at the checkout. Men oppose paying for purchases using the biometric payment system more often than women. Representatives of the economically active population took part in the survey of the SuperJob search service for highly paid jobs.
Today, only 8% of Crimeans agree to pay in person, while 8 out of 10 respondents (83%) are not yet ready for this. Among their arguments is the lack of confidence in the security of their bank account, as well as the unwillingness to hand over biometric data. “If you walk past the checkout, smile, and someone’s purchase will be at your expense,” the respondents explain— noted in the press service of the service.
Men speak about their unwillingness to “pay with their faces” more often than women (86% versus 80%). There are more opponents of the use of biometrics for banking transactions among respondents aged 35 to 44 (78%).
