Most of the inhabitants of Russia do not know about the possibility of tax deduction for paid sports

The Popular Front, on behalf of the President, monitors the availability of sports for residents of our country, including how the tax deduction for paid sports, entered at the proposal of movement works.

Thanks to this initiative, citizens in 2025 can return up to 19.5 thousand rubles (previously up to 15.6 thousand rubles) spent on sports. According to a survey conducted by the Popular Front together with the VTsIOM, only 33% of the residents of the Russian Federation are aware of the possibility of obtaining a tax deduction. At the same time, less than 1% of citizens turned after him — 350 thousand in 2024. Reasons: there are few organizations and individual entrepreneurs, for classes in which you can get a deduction, including in children and youth sports schools. Russians cannot receive a tax deduction for paying for sports activities of their family members. Only 19% of respondents know about the new tax deduction for the surrender of the TRP and the passage of medical examination.

In the Crimea, according to the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, in 2025, 18 physical education organizations and 16 individual entrepreneurs operating in physical education and sports were registered. Most organizations are state.

The Popular Front in Crimea from the first year of the implementation of this initiative — from 2020, raised the question of the need to maximize the number of such organizations and inform the Crimeans about this possibility. We see an increase in the number of organizations — in 2023 there were 13 of them. But it is important to continue to develop this direction and tell people about such an opportunity, also expanding the list of organizations— notes the head of the Popular Front in Crimea Alla Vertinskaya.

Russian President Vladimir Putin drew the attention of Minister of Sports Mikhail Degtyarev to the need to take into account the comments of the Popular Front.
