Filming of the film “Red Ribbons” has started in “Artek” as part of the additional general development program “You are a frame!”, which is being implemented by the thematic partner of the children’s center ANO “Center for Development of the Film Industry “Film Studio named after. Kira Bulycheva.» The film is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Crimea. Filming takes place with the direct participation of Artek residents.
As part of the program “You are the frame!” During the third shift, children’s center pupils study the entire filmmaking process, get acquainted with the profession of an actor, director, producer, screenwriter, artist and can choose the direction they like best.
The film tells the story of the children who were in Artek in 1944. The Germans settled tightly in the children’s camp. They are self-confident: under the cover of Ayu-Dag and the Romanian army, they are not at all afraid of the advance of Soviet troops. The Germans use child labor and abuse everyone they take to work.
The main character, the girl Miroslava, looks after the children of a German officer-commander. She comes up with a game for them — to paint homemade ribbons from the sheets of German soldiers. These ribbons can be taken to the legendary place “Artek” — the Tree of Wishes, and then all wishes will come true. The children became very friendly with Miroslava and enjoyed decorating the ribbons. Miroslava and her children tie all the ribbons, except the red ones, to the Wishing Tree. And every night, when a curfew is announced in Artek, Miroslava secretly escapes into the forest and climbs Mount Ayu-Dag, where a small group of partisans is preparing for the arrival of the Red Army.
There is a wartime atmosphere on the site. Those difficult times at Artek are clearly imprinted on the images of the children; they immerse themselves in the children’s history as much as possible. We tried to recreate similar pictures, found the necessary props and collected a whole legend of 1944, when the Nazis were still in Crimea, but the Red Army was already advancing. It is important to tell children history and talk about the topic of war, because the next generations must remember this,” explained the general producer of the film studio. As part of the educational program, Artek students will try on all the “film” professions. According to the guys, the world of cinema was a huge curtain for them, behind which it was scary to go because of the lack of understanding of how this system works. But participation in the “You Are a Frame” project from the Kir Bulychev Film Studio allowed schoolchildren to develop creative abilities and gain a lot of knowledge.
On the set, I play the role of producer and director. I spend almost all my time on set, participating in filming and helping the guys. I think that the knowledge gained during this shift will definitely be useful; it is a great and valuable experience. I play the main role in the film «Red Ribbons». It’s great that each of us has the opportunity to try ourselves in filming a real film, maybe someone will want to do this after the shift. I believe that patriotic and historical films need to be made and promoted, because they instill love for the Motherland, and children can learn more about those terrible times— said Miroslava Smirnova, Bryansk.
Upon completion of training under the program at Artek, cooperation with students will continue as part of the implementation of other projects of the thematic partner.
