New year 1445 Hijri this time fell on July 19 of the holy month of Muharram. The month of Muharram is the first month of the Muslim calendar and one of the four forbidden months. The Holy Quran says:
“Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve. So it was written in Scripture on the day when Allah created the heavens and the earth. Four months of them are forbidden. This is the right religion, and therefore do not act unjustly towards yourself in them … « (Sura «Repentance», 9/36).
And the saying of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) says: «Muharram is the best for fasting after the month of Ramadan.»
Mufti of the Muslims of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, Haji Emirali Ablaev, congratulated all believers on the Hijri New Year.
Muharram is the month of repentance and worship. Every Muslim should try to spend this time in the service of Allah Almighty, make dua, avoid idle talk, conflicts, observe fasting and do good deeds. May Almighty Allah in the venerable month of Muharram forgive us our sins and send down His mercy, prosperity and peace, — notes the Mufti of Crimea.
